PSYD 805 Family and Couples Therapy
This course introduces the student to systemic concepts as applied to families, emphasizing both theory and basic intervention skills. Ethics in family treatment is also addressed, with particular emphasis on the need to adapt treatment to class and culturally based values and issues. Treatment models covered include structural-strategic, Bowenian, Integrative and Emotion-Focused approaches to family and couple therapy. This course is part of the ISPP curriculum.
