PSYD 832 Reproductive Psychology
After learning about the structural factors that have eclipsed research, education, and training in reproductive health and psychology, topics that have been neglected will be addressed. These include female reproductive development (e.g., menstruation, fertility, childbirth, menopause), family building (e.g., Assisted Reproductive Technology, adoption), birthing practices, and reproductive loss and trauma. Students will learn relevant assessment measures and basic intervention skills, review extant research, consider individual and cultural differences, and integrate this knowledge into case formulations, research proposals, and/or advocacy plans.
