EDL 526 Realizing Vision through Technical, Human, and Financial Resources

This course empowers leadership candidates to develop strategic, equity-driven plans for allocating educational resources to support the success of all students, particularly those from historically marginalized communities. Candidates will critically examine theories of effective resource allocation and analyze case studies that highlight the systemic challenges, tradeoffs, and leadership decisions involved in distributing key resources—including budgets, staffing, time, and technology. Through a major resource reallocation project, candidates will make leadership choices that center equity and culturally responsive decision-making, align resources with school improvement plans, and address conflicts in ways that promote inclusive, student-centered learning environments. Course topics include resource adequacy, equity, efficiency, and reliability, as well as moral, legal, and ethical implications illustrated in the case study.
