EDUF 507 Linguistic Dimensions and Instructional Strategies for English Language Learners
This course will survey the strands: Communication and Understanding for ELLs, ESOL Curriculum and Materials Development, and Testing and Evaluation of ESOL, and address the standards and performance indicators aligned with each strand. Candidates will plan lessons and assessments that are standards-aligned and incorporate appropriate technological tools and resources that effectively meet the needs of ELLs. In addition, candidates will demonstrate an understanding of the linguistic components of the English language and how explicit instruction in these components support ELLs’ acquisition of English at varying proficiency levels.
