EDU 420 Field Practicum II
Course Description
EDU 420 Practicum 2 is a Year 2 residency seminar course and a required component of the year-long residency program that builds on Practicum 1 to support teacher candidates in integrating educational theory with practice-based learning within a sustained, school-embedded placement. Candidates refine instructional practice through planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction; analyzing student learning; and engaging in reflective practice, with an emphasis on culturally responsive pedagogy, classroom management, assessment, and professional collaboration. As a core component of the course, candidates participate in a structured classroom-based field experience. This course extends learning from Practicum 1 and prepares candidates for full instructional responsibility and student teaching.
