This second course in the general chemistry sequence continues the foundational study of chemical principles, focusing on thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry, and introductory organic and biochemistry concepts. Laboratory activities reinforce theoretical knowledge through hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and problem-solving. Emphasis is placed on chemical reactions relevant to biological systems and health-related applications. This course is designed for students pursuing health science and pre-professional pathways such as medicine, nursing, and allied health.

This course is designed to build upon the basic understanding of the structure and function of the major organs and systems of the human body from the cellular to the system level from Anatomy and Physiology I. By the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the workings of the human body from an anatomical and physiologic viewpoint.

Microbiology designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the biology, ecology, and pathology of microbes. Topics include learning about the structure, diversity, evolution, and genetics of viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

This is a co-requisite lab class to Microbiology. Students will be exploring the biological world of microbes, identifying different types of bacteria and fungi, and learning about their biology, ecology, and pathology.
