MTH 101 Introduction to Mathematical Concepts
This course provides a thorough grounding in quantitative reasoning as applied to modern life. It counts as a General Education requirement for the Illinois Articulation Initiative. The topics include mathematics of finance, counting techniques and probability, and statistics. The course emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving and process development and evaluation and includes an emphasis on use of technology (spreadsheets and computer software) to calculate, organize, and do research. Class time is split between classroom and online work.
