LSE 530 Designing Learning Experiences: Cognition in Socio-Cultural Contexts
This course introduces foundational concepts in the Learning Sciences with emphasis on social-emotional, cognitive, cultural, and contextual factors that shape how people learn. Students examine key theories and research on individual learning and the influence of social and cultural environments. The course also explores how issues such as poverty, trauma, language access, and systemic inequities impact learners and informs responsive, inclusive approaches to teaching and curriculum design.
