LACT 525 Applications I: Lactation Praxis

Examines lactation and infant feeding through a reproductive justice and structural equity lens, centering community-led scholarship and leadership. Students analyze how structural racism, settler colonialism, immigration policy, cisheteropatriarchy, and healthcare-system design shape lactation outcomes across diverse populations and countries. The course is praxis-oriented: students build a Listening Portfolio of community-led public scholarship, map their sphere of influence, identify a call to action from a community-led organization, and take documented real-world action during the term.
