This program, offered both in an on-campus blended and online formats, is designed to meet the needs of adult learners whose primary focus is the health care field. This program is particularly suited to health care professionals who possess essential clinical skills but wish to enhance their career opportunities by developing proficiencies in management, supervision, leadership and education. It is also open to those just embarking on their health care careers.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the B.S. in Health Care Leadership, students will be able to:
PLO-1: Utilize written and oral communication skills to convey health care issues to colleagues, administration, patients, or the public.
PLO-2: Critique team performance in completing a team project.
PLO-3: Present a professional healthcare-related presentation, showcasing proficiency in communication and audio/video skills.
PLO-4: Evaluate a healthcare delivery situation to make recommendations for improvement within a professional practice area from legal, ethical, cultural, clinical, technological, and financial perspectives.
PLO-5: Analyze organizational compliance with applicable human resource laws and regulations.
PLO-6: Formulate a strategic plan on a departmental level to add value to the department.
