SPYF 534 Cognitive Assessment in Contemporary School Practice
Candidates learn to administer, score, and interpret cognitive tests in the context of accumulated research on their utility in educational decision making, especially as part of special education eligibility. In addition to technical skills, candidates review the psychometric limitations in many elements of cognitive test use, including an ill-defined construct, reliability of difference scores, and consequential validity. Pre- requisite(s): SPYF 524 or equivalent. Admission to the School Psychology Program. Co-requisite(s): None. 3 semester hours
