Effective Teaching in PK-12 E-Learning Environments, Graduate Certificate

Participants in this certificate offering will join a professional learning community of peer educators and graduate faculty working to address the challenges of teaching in E-Learning contexts. Educators will participate in a problem-solving, solution centered, innovative community of practice while exploring approaches to remote and E-Learning. Topics include principles of effective online teaching, planning for remote and E-Learning, selecting digital tools, using digital tools, and designing E-Learning environments. 

Certificate Learning Outcomes (CLOs):

 The following are the knowledge and competencies to be developed in this certificate. Successful certificate completers will:

  • Design learner-centered experiences using digital tools across all modalities of class environments.
  • Define a Problem of Practice and test strategies for teaching effectively in learning environments
  • Plan, design, and evaluate digital resources for teaching, learning, and assessment in educational settings
  • Reflect on the principles and practices of effective E-Learning in order to implement E-Learning plans in PK-12 contexts. 

Program Details:

  • Requires 11 SH for completion
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
  • A limit of one course may be transferred with the approval from the Office of the NCE Dean
