MHE 540 Methods for Elementary Mathematics: Planning and Assessment
In this course teacher candidates learn to apply techniques for teaching diverse learners mathematics and creating equitable learning communities in the elementary classroom. Candidates examine differentiated instructional approaches to accommodate various learning needs in mathematics instruction. Candidates prepare lesson plans, design grade-level appropriate mathematics units, and develop formative and summative assessments. Teacher candidates also learn how to integrate technology into the mathematics curriculum.

Admission to the Elementary Education M.A.T. program or consent of M.A.T. program director. For the initial teacher licensure candidates, prerequisite includes
