Test of Basic Skills
Students who are seeking Illinois licensure or who were certified prior to July 1, 1988, are required by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to pass the Test of Basic Skills one full academic term prior to Practicum II- Student Teaching linked experience. Students are also required to sign a Test of Basic Skills Requirements Student Enrollment Acknowledgement Form prior admission to the teacher preparation program indicating they have been informed of this requirement. Passing scores must be documented in the student record. Current licensure, endorsement and test requirements are detailed on the ISBE website.
