Center for Inquiry in Education

The Center for Inquiry in Education (CFIE) (formerly known as “the Center for Practitioner Research”) originated in 2010 as an effort to provide a forum for college faculty and students to share their research and scholarly accomplishments and initiatives. The Center for Inquiry in Education promotes inquiry in a variety of areas in the diverse fields of education, garnering interest of both scholars and practitioners. These focus areas include but are not limited to classroom practice, educational leadership, foundations, curriculum, practitioner training, and action research in education. The CFIE allows scholars and practitioners to share their experiences and expertise as part of a larger learning community.

The Reading Center

Established in 1972, The Reading Center at National Louis University promotes leadership in literacy at the university as well as at the state, national, and international level.  It accomplishes its mission through its graduate programs, partnership projects, research and publication, reading improvement programs, outreach, institutes, and other literacy initiatives.  The Reading Center, and its campus locations, also function as training sites for graduate students who provide literacy instruction for participating school-age students.  A hallmark of The Reading Center and the Faculty in Reading and Language is an emphasis on collaboration for leadership in literacy.
