SPE 534 Early Childhood Special Education Collaboration, Family and Community

This course addresses strategies for developing positive and supportive relationships with families of young children with disabilities, including the legal and philosophical basis for family participation, family-centered services; and strategies for working with socially, culturally, and linguistically diverse families. Strategies and models for promoting effective consultation and collaboration with other professionals and agencies within the community are included. This course includes 15 hours of preclinical experience. Pre-requisite(s): SPE 500 or equivalent. Co-requisite(s): None. 3 semester hours
